Who We Are
Levity Farms is a vegetable, herb, and flower farm in north metro Atlanta, GA, whose focus is on regenerative agriculture, nutrient-rich produce, and active community participation. We grow specifically for local chefs, farmers markets, and preschools. We seek to provide a model of a small, family farming operation that fuels, nourishes, and celebrates community.
What We Grow
While our favorite crops are salad & specialty greens, we also grow small root vegetables, fragrant & decorative flowers and herbs, and a small selection of unique vegetables for local restaurants and our Georgia community.
You know that brushing your teeth is important, because it cleans plaque and debris out from your teeth and gums. Salad and leafy greens are like toothbrushes for your digestive tract. Greens are also, generally, very high in vitamins and minerals, and they are usually pretty easy for your body to digest. Our greens repertoire consists of, but is not limited to:
Oak leaf lettuce
Brassicas are a family of plants that are known for high levels of nutrient density, including loads of vitamins, minerals, and even protein. They are some of the hardiest vegetables grown at Levity Farms, and often do well in colder months. Brassicas generally contain high levels of phytochemicals, which are known for their cancer-fighting and disease preventing properties. At any given farmers market, Levity might be selling the following brassicas:
Root Vegetables + Nightshades
Although the majority of our production is green in color, we maintain a diverse inventory of root vegetables & summertime nightshades. Green is beautiful, but how boring is life when everything is the same color? That's why we also grow the following colorful favorites:
Heirloom cherry tomatoes
Peppers (sweet & spicy)
As delicious as farm-fresh produce is, not everything grown at Levity is raised for eating. We also raise hundreds of farm flowers, some that we've planted, and some that have planted themselves, around the field to provide our pollinator friends with an all-you-can-eat buffet. But bees and butterflies aren't the only ones who get to indulge in our dahlias, ageratum, and other farm flowers. We harvest many and arrange them into bouquets, specifically designed by Levity farmers to fit in mason jars, for our community to enjoy as well.
